Minimally Invasive Necklift
Trampoline Platysmaplasty

By: Lars P. Enevoldsen, MD

I love this new procedure! I’m always being asked by patients what can be done for the sagging skin on their neck short of a full facelift. Prior to the trampoline platysmaplasty there weren’t a lot of great options. I am now using the ImplicitGuideSurgical Suture System (iGuide) to perform a minimally invasive necklift (trampoline platysmaplasty).

This new procedure developed by Dr. Gregory Mueller of West Hollywood allows me to achieve dramatic improvement in the jawline and neck contour using only tiny incisions. Amazingly, this procedure can be done with only local anesthetic. It can be done as a stand alone procedure or in combination with liposuction of the neck if there is excess fat to be removed.

This ingenious procedure involves the use of a fiberoptic lighted rod to guide a suture beneath the skin of the neck in a crisscross fashion (sort of like lacing a shoe) to help support the underlying platysma muscle. In properly selected patients, sagging skin of the neck giving a “turkey gobbler” appearance can be corrected avoiding a more costly and extensive procedure such as a facelift.

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your neck, I would be happy to advise you if you are a candidate for the iGuide necklift. For the month of May, iGuide consultations will be complimentary and for those patients who schedule the procedure during the month of May they will receive a complimentary MicroLaser Peel or Profractional treatment with our Sciton Laser.
